Weekly Update - A Good Reaction...

Hey hunters

Alright — smaller update this week, but it cleans up a lot of loose ends and sets the stage for bigger stuff behind the scenes. If you've been poking around the “User Screenshots” page lately, you’ve probably noticed things look a bit different. That’s because we’ve fully aligned it with the new bounty rating system — not just visually, but mechanically.

I've seen that there are a lot of bounty ratings already coming through, faster than anticipated! That's wonderful and we're happy to see it in action. I trusly appreciate that personally. But let's talk about what's been happening this week.

🧪 Screenshot Rating System Tweaks

We’ve given the User Screenshots page a proper clean-up. Screenshots are now front and center, with all the important info — game, trophy, XP value, and any community ratings — clearly laid out. It’s not a full redesign, but it makes everything easier to see at a glance and sets us up for bigger changes later.

On that note, we’re planning to expand the whole rating system — especially for Premium users. One of the features in the pipeline is rating transparency. That means you’ll be able to see exactly who rated your screenshot and how they scored it across each category. No guesswork, no vague averages — just raw, unfiltered feedback. Like a performance review, but with trophies.

🗨️ Comments = Not for Chats Anymore

Comments have also changed. They’re now more “feedback” than “conversation.” No more thread-style back-and-forth — that’s what the forums and DMs are for. This just keeps things cleaner and lets people leave quick feedback without derailing into 3-paragraph debates about lighting and angles.

👍 Reactions Overhaul

We also revamped how reactions work:

  • You can now only leave one reaction per post
  • You’ll earn 10 XP the first time you react to something (but only the first time — no farming, we see you)
  • Visually, they look better. More consistent. Less janky.

📦 Other Bits & Fixes

  • Added new reaction system documentation: Reactions Documentation
  • Fixed a bunch of bugs with XP, rating leaks, and global multipliers not being applied properly
  • Somehow, bots were still managing to comment — that’s gone now too
  • Admin dashboard got some extra metrics for easier tracking

And yep — Double XP is now off. Hope you rinsed it while it lasted.

🐾 What’s Next

We’re not done with ratings — not even close. Over time, we’ll be making them a core part of the JPSNT experience, not just a side activity. Ratings will feed into XP boosts, leaderboard visibility, and maybe even trophy showcase eligibility. The better your bounties are rated, the more it should matter — and we’re building toward that.

We’ve also had a few solid suggestions from the community already — one in particular: displaying the trophy requirements on the “Rate Bounties” page. Makes sense. Right now, you’re just looking at a screenshot with no context, and that’s not always fair. So yeah, we hear you. That’s on the list.

Basically: rating isn’t just a quick XP faucet. We're building a proper feedback loop — one that helps reward skill, creativity, and effort more transparently. It’s gonna take a few iterations, but we’ll get there.

Anyway. Keep rating. Keep reacting. Hit those streaks. See what happens.
